Activities
Enjoy hiking and biking, golfing, boating, fishing, swimming, and more!
As part of the historic Route 66, Needles California gives you access to a wide variety of outdoor & resort activities. Whether you like to spend your time boating and fishing on crystal blue waters or hiking past desert wildflowers, you’ll find just what you’re looking for at Desert View RV Resort near Lake Havasu. This is the place to come for boating on the Colorado River, jet-skiing on Lake Mohave, or touring Lake Mead’s incredible Hoover Dam.
Head to Lake Havasu City Arizona for a day of boat tours, shopping in the quaint English Village, or fishing for rainbow trout, catfish, largemouth bass, stripers, and crappie. You can watch for wildlife and wildflowers — or go rock climbing — at the nearby Mojave National Preserve, home of the 600-foot-tall Kelso Dunes. Go hiking and biking there, then pay a visit to Topock Gorge, where you’ll find remarkable rock formations and ancient Indian hieroglyphics.
Nearby Laughlin, Nevada has nightlife, clubs, restaurants, and live entertainment, plus fantastic shopping and water sports on the Colorado River. Rock hounds won’t want to miss a stop in Quartzsite, Arizona, where you’ll find stones, fossils, and minerals for sale from roadside stands and shops. Also, rock-hunting enthusiasts should be sure to catch the annual Lake Havasu City Gem and Mineral Show, held each winter.
Go bird watching in our local canyons and open spaces, spend a day golfing on our nearby courses, or bring your own water craft and take part in the summertime Boat Regattas on Lake Havasu. In late April, you can take in the Laughlin Riverrun motorcycle extravaganza, and if you visit in the winter you can enjoy the car races at the Mohave Valley Raceway. In our local area you’ll also find the Mystic Maze archeological site, a ghost town, mining tour, shopping in Bullhead, and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge.
